agree with both of you really. the media’s bollocks wasn’t important, it was just quite funny and showed up a few sports journalists for the charlatans that they are. i guess the difference to their usual scare-mongering was that this time it was so painfully obvious that the stuff they were saying was made up.

as you know, we’re not a blog which fetishises transfers as some fans do. equally, we have no complaints about arsene signing good players.

if there’s a serious point to be made about the whole affair, it’s simply been yet another demonstration of how easily manipulated by the media quite a lot of our fans are. if arshavin hadn’t signed you’d be seeing despair and desolation and demands that wenger be sacked, instead of which we’ve got this weird euphoria as though we’ve won the league rather than signed a winger. it’s moronic, but what can you do?

I dont get why people are so annoyed about the press during this transfer
they do Far worse stuff to arsenal than this
they had a massiv hand in us not winning the title last season
they saw a mental crack in our team and really went to work on it
they also influence referees

i couldnt care less about this transfer stuff – pleased we got AA, but beyond that, who cares?
