Why Arsenal WILL be Fourth By Mid-March!!

In a spirit of blind, rampant optimism which has just this minute consumed me, I’d like to explain how in a little over 10 days time Arsenal FC will be back in fourth position and gunning for a unique FA Cup and Champions League Double, pissing all over the hideous Manc’s pre-planned quintuple celebrations. If there was a prize for the speedy counting of feathered farm animals prior to their birth, then United would be on for six.

In that vein of idiotic confidence, I can say that our season of glory will start tonight by jolly well stuffing West Brom. If Arsene has been guilty of complaining too much about teams who fail to deploy a 2-3-5 formation at the Emirates and in so doing avoid succumbing to our blistering counter-attacking artillery, then tonight ought to be his night. West Brom have the virtue of playing football in exactly the right spirit. They play to win and they attack from the off. I genuinely believe that’s the way the game should be played, however I also know that you can’t really argue with a position four points adrift at the foot of the table.

I’m also convinced that fixtures against mid-table teams at home are the last thing we need right now. It’s got to be either someone very good or very bad, away from home in order for our players to actually try.

Villa meanwhile face a tricky trip to Man City, where I am certain they will receive a cruel rogering from Robinho.

Then next week we’ll have Blackburn at home. Our delicious goal-fest will have whetted our appetite for more, and the malaise of the Islington Shuffle will dissolve in a flurry of over-head kicks, swashbuckling dribbles and diving headers. 3 more points.

Villa, meanwhile, will host Sp*rs, a club who as we all know, will do absolutely anything to ensure Arsenal FC’s qualification for Champions’ League football, even if it means poisoning their own playing staff with some hideous poo-dynamite and making a monumental tit out of themselves. This time they’ll swop nasty squits for rasping shots and will sneak a thrilling win over a spluttering O’Neill and his side.

In between, we’ll ease past Roma and dispose superciliously with Burnley.

Convinced? Let me know what you think.

Encouraged with your post, I am staying up late tonight to watch the match with a lot of optimism of Arsenal turning around their season.

All the moanings will stop when Arsenal finishes 4th or even higher (Chelsea and Lpool can lose games nowadays) + winning the FA Cup :D

    ARSENAL TILL THE END!!

ive been saying the same thing to any one who will listern for quite some time. we have plenty of reasons to be optimistic notfg least of all walcotts back in training. come on boys show us all why wengers got faith in you

  5. conor Says:

also thease people that say weve had no success in five years seem to forget we were in a champions league 3 years ago thats a success in its own right

  6. Mark Says:

Gents, your optimism is very noble but misplaced I fear.

With the sh!te we’ve got playing for us in midfield we haven’t got a chance of fourth spot, and to entertain the thought of Eboue with a Champions League winner’s medal…….ludicrous.

  7. BennyGoon Says:

Mark, Djimi Traore has one, so why not Eboue!! ;)

  8. aqqe Says:

Mark – he was 10 minutes from reaching aforementioned Champions League medal 05/06, or were you asleep then? Eboue is good, just not a consistent performer at right wing.

I do kind of agree with you, Mr.Blogger. It might perhaps be too much to ask of Tottenham to beat Villa away, but they are due playing Man U & Liverpool away – while the title race is still on. We play Man U away when they have probably already won it.

With all the players returning (Walcott – and perhaps Eduardo too – is even fit to play Burnley) we will look like a new team. Walcott and Arshavin on each wing, RvP and Eduardo up front with Denilson-Nasri in the centre. That’s one good looking lineup right there.

I do think we will get 4th spot. Might even overcome Chelsea. An injury to Lampard/Anelka and they are done for.

i believe Arsenal can still be fourth even better up third.

  12. fraster Says:

I hope that you are the reason, or we will regret our elimination of CL and FA Cup… by mid-march!

  13. soccerfanbase.com Says:

I honestly believe we will get into the champions league. No matter what, if we don’t qualify directly, then we will probably win the champions league.

Considering the next 6 fixtures of Arsenal and Villa, I sincerely believe we have got a great chance of going at least 3 points ahead of them – could even be 6 points.

But how well can Villa manage the pressure of being behind Arsenal? The real decider will be in the answer to that question but any one who watched the Villa vs Chelsea match should know Villa does not have the right metality to topple Arsenal.

They were all busy kicking Chelsea just because they were 1 goal down which isn’t the right metality for a club day dreaming about toppling ARSENAL.

I am sorry for their fans, they will not see their team in the champions league this season except if they can manage to push down Liverpool who seem desperately interested in the UEFA cup ( Europa cup I mean).
